Let's talk about bragging on a first date, which can really turn off your date.

Do you make a six-figure income? Do you own an airplane, yacht, and expensive home or luxury car? Did you graduate from a prestigious college such as Harvard or Princeton?

If you possess these things, I'm sure you're proud of your accomplishments and think the woman you're out on a first date with would really be impressed if you shared this with them.

Yes, they would be impressed. But, there's a time and a place for telling them. On your first date, keep a low profile and keep these things to yourself initially, and I will tell you why.

If you start telling her about your material things and educational accomplishments just five minutes into the date, you're going to come across as bragging on yourself and a guy who is self-centered and insecure with an ego problem.

Trust me, if you dominate your whole conversation with your date about yourself, your accomplishments, and how great you are, you're going to really turn her off and she probably won't be interested in dating you again.

After you have gotten to know her better and had a few dates, then you can brag on yourself a little bit. Just don't overdo it! Be humble.

The point I'm making is to never brag on yourself on a first date. Impress her with how you treat women with dignity and tenderness, your communication skills, and how you listen to her attentively. And of course, really pour on the charm and romance her.

Go to any bookstore and you are going to see lots of lovely single women to hit up on. It's a casual atmosphere and great place to meet and attract single women for romance and relationships. Try these lines for starters:

1. See a woman looking for a book. Approach her and say, "Can I help you find a book?"

2. "Did you know your picture is in one of the books here? When she asks what book, you say, "I was looking at a book on angels and you're picture was in it."

3. "Would you like to meet for coffee sometime and talk about books and authors?"

4. "Excuse me, but can you recommend a good book to read?"

5. "Excuse me, is this book worth buying?"

6. Here's a good one to use in college bookstores: "Can you recommend a good teacher for English 306?"

7. "Who's your favorite author?"

8. When you see her looking at a book you've read say, "I've read that book. It's really great!" Then, just start talking about the book and ask her out for coffee.

9. Grab one of those coffee table type books on gardens and approach her and say, "Would you like to see something really beautiful? Just look at this picture of a beautiful garden."

10. Bring a book over to her and ask, "Can you tell me what this word means?" (Be sure and pick a difficult word so it seems realistic that you need help.)

PICK-UP LINE OF THE WEEK

Here's one to use on topless dancers: When you tip a dancer on stage, put a lottery ticket with your dollar bill. Write on the back of it: "If you win, call me at__________and let's celebrate. Even if you don't win let's meet for lunch or dinner. Good luck!" Then sign your name.

1. Send her a postcard with a romantic thought on it. It can be a simple statement like, "You're such a special lady and I wanted to let you know, I'm thinking about you".

2. Here's a great idea. Buy an erasable marker and write, " I love you" on her front windshield of her car. Also, put a paper towel under the windshield wiper so she can wipe it off.

3. If you are spending the night with her, just before she goes to sleep, tap her on the shoulder and tell her you love her, then give her soft romantic kiss, and hold her in your arms and cuddle.

4. Buy some "post it notes" and put them on her bathroom mirror where she is most likely to see them. Write on them things like, "I love you" or "I can't wait to kiss and make love you to again."

5. Write her a very romantic love letter and hand it to her and say, " I've written this letter to someone very special in my life, could you do me a favor and proof read it for me for any misspelled words before I mail it out?

6. Give her a call at work or at home at a time that you know that you will be getting her voice mail and leave her a romantic message such as, "I just called to let you know that you're in my thoughts and that I think you are a very special lady."

7. Take her on a romantic picnic. Bring a blanket, food, flowers, and champagne on ice. Single women love picnics.

8. I'm sure you have seen wild flowers growing along the road. Get a vase and gather a bunch of wild flowers and hand deliver them to her. This has just as great of an effect as giving her roses.

9. This requires some timing to pull this off. Call the radio station you both listen to and dedicate a song to her. Make sure you don't tell her and time it to where you are both listening to the radio station when the request comes on the air.

10. By her one of those helium-filled "I Love You" or "Happy Birthday" balloons and mail it to her. This will really be an unexpected surprise.
